Yesterday, I posted the first installment of my Something Daily project, my commitment to write and publish something every day, even if it’s only one sentence.
Every time I reread yesterday’s post, I want to change it. I’m not surprised. I write more things I dislike than I’m pleased with, but that’s the way the game is played. You create things that disappoint you again and again until one day you create something that doesn’t.
You have to take that first ugly step. Then you take several more, wobbling and tumbling and falling on your face until the day you take a graceful step that leaves you wondering how you did it. Then you’re off and wobbling again like a toddler chasing a puppy. It looks ridiculous, but it’s fun as hell sometimes.
